Overtown Shopping Plaza Murals

The SEOPW CRA continued its commitment to placemaking and community beautification through strategic investments in local artists and culturally rooted public art. This ongoing initiative features a two-part mural series created by local Overtown artist Tierra Armstrong at the Overtown Shopping Plaza. The first installation, titled "Breath of Fresh Air," was unveiled in the spring of 2024 and features uplifting imagery of a peaceful woman, a joyful dancer, and a young man carrying a child to reflect themes of resilience, family, and joy. The series was later expanded with a follow-up companion mural titled "The Scenic Ride," successfully transforming the plaza walls into a continuous canvas of public art.
