In the spring of 2024, the SEOPW CRA unveiled a vibrant mural titled “Breath of Fresh Air” by artist Tierra Armstrong at their shopping plaza on 1490 NW 3rd Avenue. Celebrating community spirit and hope, the mural features imagery of a peaceful woman, a joyful dancer, and a young man carrying a child, reflecting themes of resilience, family, and joy. This artwork is part of the SEOPW CRA’s beautification efforts, highlighting public art as a key element in local redevelopment. By bringing art into everyday spaces, the mural fosters community pride, engages residents, and ensures that the artwork resonates with their shared experiences and ownership of public spaces.
